The History of Virginia in Four Parts eBook Robert Beverley
General overview of history going back to early 1700's. Very helpful to me in my genealogy research as it helps me to understand the environment of the people's lives. I will keep this reference book. There are certainly more current discussions of early Virginia history with benefit of much research. But, I also like this volume as it was written much closer to the time it discusses.Product details

The History of Virginia in Four Parts eBook Robert Beverley Reviews
Good book
Hardback copy would better serve the genealogy readers. Too difficult to cite sources.
I bought it because it was written by my 8th great grandfather. Was very surprised and very happy to find this book.
There's a lot to read in the 4 parts, and quite a bit of repetition. Useful books, though.
This book because it was written in the 17th century is chocked full of archaic language, but it is worth sifting through to get a firsthand look at what the early colony of VA was like. I enjoyed the book immensely. I am sure that much of what we know of those days, are owing to this text.
This book has lots of information about the early years of our country. It is a great resource for the genealogist - professional or amateur. It is always nice to have background information on the customs & circumstanes that your ancestors lived with on a day to day basis.
This is NOT a book of fiction. It has FOUR parts about the history of the state of Virginia. A book for historians or for genealogists. I downloaded it because of the genealogy in hopes it would provide some information regarding the lives my ancestors might have lived. Having to click on the selections of "predictable" | "some twists" | "full of surprises" etc. was required before I was able to post this review.
